HoopScape

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

HoopScape ("HoopScape," "we," "our," or "us"), operated by Linwis Ventures LLC, provides a basketball coaching tool for planning drills and running practice sessions. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, how we use it, and the choices you have.

If you have questions, email privacy@hoopscape.app.

Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to run the app and tie your content to your account.

Account information. You can create an account by signing in with Google or Apple, or by registering with an email address and password. When you use Google or Apple, we receive your display name and email address from that provider. When you register with an email address, we collect that email address, the password you choose (handled by our authentication provider, Google Firebase, and stored only in hashed form — we never see your plaintext password), and any display name you enter. We use this information to create your account, attribute the drills and practices you author, and contact you about your account when necessary.

Coaching content. Drills, practices, diagrams, and posts you create are stored in our database (Google Firestore) and tied to your account so we can show them back to you across devices.

Feedback and bug reports. When you send feedback or report a bug from within the app, we collect the message you write, the category you select (bug, feature, or other), and — to help us reproduce the issue — diagnostic context: your account identifier (if signed in), the screen you were on, your app version and platform, and, in a browser, your browser/device user-agent. If you attach screenshots or photos, those images are uploaded to our storage and reviewed by our team. To triage reports promptly, we deliver each report — its text, diagnostic context, and any attached screenshots — to our team by email through Resend, a third-party email provider (https://resend.com) that processes it in transit on our behalf. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in the text or images. We use this only to triage and fix issues and to respond to you.

Device information. When the app runs on your phone or in a browser, the operating system or browser may automatically send basic technical information (OS version, app version, IP address) to our backend providers for routine network operations. We don't combine this with your account profile.

Crash and error diagnostics. To keep the app stable, we use Sentry (a third-party error-monitoring service, https://sentry.io) to automatically capture a technical report when the app crashes or hits an unexpected error. A report includes the error and its stack trace, the app version, the device/OS or browser type, and — if you are signed in — your account identifier, so we can tell whether an issue affects one person or many. These reports do not include your drills, practices, messages, or other account contents. We use them only to find and fix bugs.

No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. HoopScape does not send your activity to outside analytics or advertising services, and does not track you across apps or sites. To improve the app we measure only aggregate, anonymous usage — such as the total number of active users and how often features are used — computed on our own servers from data we already store. These metrics are never tied to you individually.

How we use your information

  • To operate the app: sign you in, save your drills and practices, sync your content across your devices.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and respond to reports of abuse.
  • To communicate with you about account-related issues (e.g., a required password reset).

We don't sell your personal information. We don't share it with third parties for marketing.

Storage and processing

Your account and coaching content live in Google Firebase (Firestore + Firebase Auth), which is operated by Google. Data is stored in Google's North America region. Google's security and privacy practices for Firebase are described at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Sub-processors. In addition to Google Firebase, we use: Resend (https://resend.com) to deliver in-app feedback and bug reports to our team by email (see "Feedback and bug reports" above); and Sentry (https://sentry.io) to receive automatic crash and error diagnostics (see "Crash and error diagnostics" above). We do not share your personal information with any other third-party processor.

Your choices

Edit your profile. You can change your coach display name from the Profile screen at any time.

Delete your account. The Profile screen has a "Delete account" action that permanently removes your account, every drill, every practice, and every post you authored. This action is irreversible and takes effect immediately.

Sign out. Signing out leaves your data in place; you can sign back in on any device to restore access.

Children's privacy

HoopScape is intended for coaches and adults working with athletes. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact privacy@hoopscape.app and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email to the address on your account before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
